- Candidate must be a graduating high school and resident of one of the following counties: Fayette,
- Candidate must be pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited public or nonprofit independent, 2-year or 4-year college or university
- Candidate must have an agricultural background (food, fiber, life sciences, or production farming), and/or be a member of the National FFA organization, 4-H, or a similar program
