John E. Foster Minority Engineering Scholarship Fund

Description:
This fund was established by engineering firms that are involved in the “Clean Water Columbus” project. The fund will provide full-tuition engineering scholarships to female and minority students from Columbus City Schools who will pursue a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Ohio State University or Columbus State Community College. The Fund is named in honor of the late John E. Foster, who was one of the first African Americans in Columbus to become prominent in the area of civil engineering and at one time owned the largest minority-owned engineering firm in Columbus. Mr. Foster died in August 2007.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Graduating minority or female high school senior from Columbus City Schools
  2. Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  3. Pursuing post-secondary education at either The Ohio State University or Columbus State Community College
